Tomorrow marks two years of marriage for the cowboy and I. Within these past two years one of the most important lessons I am learning is to pray for my sweet husband. Our husbands go through so much and they rarely ask for help. As wives I believe it is our job to pray for our husbands daily. Prayer is a powerful tool we as women of Christ need to be using proactively to support our man! Last year I wrote A Prayer For Our Husbands and felt prompted to rewrite one for 2016. Each year my heart break a little more for our world, and each day our husbands are sent out into the world. Join me in praying for our husbands daily, because prayer works!

Dear Heavenly Father,

Thank you for brining me the perfect teammate. You knew exactly what we both would need to compliment each other and work together. You are so good God! Thank you for our marriage, and all that you have done and will do within our lives. There is no greater God than you, for you have created the perfect will for our marriage.

Today as I pray over my husband I ask that you protect him from harms way on his way to and from work. Give him favor with his bosses and colleagues, and let him be a positive light in his work space. I ask that you sharpen his discernment today, and give him clarity like never before. As he tackles the tasks laid out before him at work I pray you give him the focus he needs to complete them with excellence.

I pray you give him boldness to speak your name so that all who know my husband knows he serves a might God. In today’s world where hate and arguments rage I ask that you give him a wise tongue to know when to speak and when to listen. I ask for an abundance amount of energy over him, and a positive word for all those he interact with.

Amen!

Prayer is a beautiful thing, isn’t it?

Happy 4th of July from the cowboy and I to YOU!

4th of July is one of my all-time favorite holidays. We get to celebrate the men and women who fought for the freedom we enjoy today. Ever year growing up my family would spend our days eating delicious fair food, watching the parade, and spending quality time together. All my summer memories are wrapped around this weekend.

Where the cowboy and I live now we can only purchase fireworks at certain times of the year. So the cowboy and I headed to the fireworks tent today and picked up a few for fun. Let’s just say it didn’t go as planned. The cowboy has two burt thumbs to prove it. Apparently the fireworks from this tent were not the best, but it was still fun! Minus the burnt thumbs. :/ Seriously I felt so bad for him! So here’s your service warning: be alert of the position of where your thumbs are while lighting fireworks this year. Now you can’t say you were never warned.

Also these are my favorite jeans/jeggins from the Lauren Conrad collection and they are on an amazing 4th of July sale! What kind of friend would I be if I didn’t tell you about Kohl’s killer sale?! Seriously the most comfortable jeggins I’ve ever purchased. And Banner Apparel is running a sale that ends tonight, this shirt worn here, and this tank worn here, are both $15 dollars off your purchase of $40 or more! Use code INDEPENDENCE at check out! And last but no least my lips are on fire with this Rock ‘n’ Red lip gloss by Mary Kay!

What are some of your 4th of July traditions? Do they include deep fried Oreos? Swimming? Shopping?

xoxo stephanie

Dear Mom,

Even though we live 577.1 miles away from each other which is an 8 hour and 25 minute drive you are still my best friend. No distance will ever stop that! Heck even cancer couldn’t tear us apart, because you taught me to build relationship strong and I think our relationship is the strongest of them all. Thank you for being the best Mom a girl could every ask for. I know every girl thinks her Mom is the best, but that simply cannot be true… Thank you for teaching me some important lessons like the following:

How to brush my hair out so it doesn’t look stringy.

How do clean and do laundry.

How to love.

 How to listen.

To treat others how I would want to be treated.

To take care of myself and buy good makeup.

How to laugh.

 To be respectful.

How to take photos, and capture memories.

Obviously these are not all the amazing lessons you taught me, but if I listed them all I think my fingers would cramp up…

Thank you for your unconditional love and advice. One of these days I pray I can become a Mom half as good as you are. You are impacting more people than you will ever realize, and I know God has some amazing things planned for you. Thank you for always being YOU! Words will never be able to express how much I love and miss. Whenever you’re feeling down, or alone remember how much you mean to me and how much I love you!

So happy Mother’s Day to the greatest Mom a girl could ask for! Love,

Forever, and ever, and ever, and ever, and ever, and ever, and ever, and ever YOUR FAVORITE DAUGHTER

Christmas Movie Jar

Ti’s the season for Christmas movies and hot chocolate! There are so many great Christmas movies to watch and we only get one true season to watch them. It’s always a challenge to select which movie to watch on which nights, and somehow we always end up forgetting one. At least this is how it is for the cowboy and I. Determined not to miss out on any of our favorite Christmas movies this year I came up with this fun and easy idea. First the cowboy and I decided what movie we wanted to watch this Christmas, then we wrote each one out on a slip of paper. We folded each movie and placed it in a jar, each night we draw a movie out and watch it together! It’s so fun and easy, plus there’s no arguing over what movie to watch. This fun idea ensures we each get to see the Christmas movies we love and it adds excitement not knowing which movie will be picked. Bellow you will find the list of movies we selected!

Christmas with the Kranks

Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmas

Mickey’s Twice Upon a Christmas

Mickey’s Magical Christmas

The Santa Clause

The Santa Clause 2

Madea’s Christmas

12 Dates of Christmas

Deck The Halls

Jingle All The Way

Elf

Holiday Inn

Home Alone

Home Alone 2

Frosty The Snowman

Unaccompanied Minors

Rudolph

The Holiday

Four Christmas’

Christmas in Handcuffs

White Christmas

I’ll Be Home For Christmas

Christmas Vacation

How The Grinch Stole Christmas

Polar Express

Miracle on 34th Street

Charlie Brown’s Christmas

As you can see we have a long list! I don’t know if we will get through all of these fun movies but at least we’re going to try! After all half the fun is not knowing what movie you’re going to pick. And don’t think you have to use our exact movie list, add your own twist to it. I also added some Christmas ribbon to our little jar because it needed to look more cheerful in my opinion.

What are some of your must watch Christmas movies?

This Thanksgiving so many fun memories were created and they will be cherished for years to come. We spent our Thanksgiving weekend in Oklahoma City with my brother and family. The entire time was spent exploring OKC and eating our way around town. So it was basically perfect! The girls even got some Black Friday shopping done. But besides the shopping, food, and exploring we were able to spend time with family which is always my favorite part of the holidays. Because of Oklahoma’s ice storm our weekend was extended when we woke up Saturday morning. Oklahoma was frozen over and it was simply beautiful and perfect. My Mom, Aunt, and I were running all over the neighborhoods taking pictures of the trees full of fall leaves frozen. It was a little bit chilly but totally worth it. One of my favorite places we visited was Pops. A local burger joint that serves hundreds of differ types of soda from all around the world! We ordered our meals then went to search for the perfect drink! It was too much fun reading all the different names of the sodas they offered. We also had an exciting time at Dave N’ Busters before the power went out and didn’t come back on. Our sweet boys also waited around while we shopped at Ulta, and Cavenders! Needless to say it was a fast and furious trip and I loved every single second of it! Click here to see what I wore on Thanksgiving!

Our Oklahoma Vlog is live now, watch it bellow and thumbs up for more videos!
