Fall Vest + Life Catch Up

Wow the end of 2016 feels like it is just going to flying by! So much has happened this year it’s crazy to sit back and think about it. The most insane part is the year isn’t even over yet. One thing I’ve noticed a lot about 2016 is I’m becoming a lot more sentimental… thinking back on events and situations where God was clearly moving. For those of you who don’t know I’ve been in the middle of a transitional season from one job to my new current job.

Change. A word you either hate or love. I like to think I’m always ready for change, but more realistically it depends on what kind of change it is. Fall is my favorite season, and it’s all about change. The leaves change colors and then drift to the ground as they fall off preparing for the coming winter. This is always a sweet reminder that change is a good thing in our life. I’ve been trying very hard the last few months to balance out everything in my life. To find that sweet spot of being productive but also finding time to do things you love!

Anyways other than me blabbering on about life and what not I wanted to brag on this vest! I’ve been on the hunt for a good vest for fall and winter for a whole year now. And finally I found one! If navy isn’t your color that’s ok, they also offer it in pink, cream, and olive green. The material of this vest is perfect it’s not bulky or heavy, it’s great for every day wear or to keep you warm on those chilly fall nights. I apologize in advance if you see this piece over and over again…

Thanksgiving Outfit Idea

// Shirt // Skirt // Necklace // Boots // Alex And Ani // Mother Daughter bracelet //

Pandora bracelet // Hair  // Eye makeup //

Thanksgiving is next week you guys! This means turkey, stuffing, and pumpkin pie all day long! If your schedule is anything like ours you have multiple thanksgiving parties to attend, which means even more turkey. If you’re also like me you like to plan your outfits in advance, because why not? Thanksgiving is one of those holidays you want to look nice for but also feel comfortable. It’s not like the Christmas office party where you have to dress up in your heels all night. I like to be comfortable but yet cute for pictures on Thanksgiving. That’s why I love plaid and lace, you can dress it up or down depending on your style. This outfit is your simple A-Line lace skirt paired with your classic red flannel for a fall themed outfit! Comfy and cute. Plus I love my Minnetonka boots I wear them almost every week around here. So here’s some outfit inspiration for you today, to get your creative fashionista mind working.¬†

Inexpensive Fall Date Night Ideas

Fall Date Night Ideas

Fall is in full swing here on the homestead, the leaves are in piles around our trees and I’ve officially pulled out all of my sweaters. Needless to say I’m pretty excited about this lovely weather change, growing up in the north fall and winter were our longest season so I guess that’s why every time fall comes around it brings a smile to my face. Not only is each season fun in their own ways I feel as though the dating atmosphere changes with the seasons as well. Instead of days spent at the beach, or splashing through puddles like summer and spring, fall brings a completely different list of dates to choose from. Today I’ve come up with four fun, and inexpensive fall dates. The best part of all these are perfect for anyone, married, engaged, first date, or fifth date they’re all fun!

1 | Make a Blanket Fort

Sometimes the best date nights are the ones where you just stay home. But to make things more exciting grab those blankets and pillows and let your imagination start flowing! Create the best blanket fort ever and cuddle up inside to watch your favorite movie.

2 | Visit A Pumpkin Patch

There’s nothing more fun during fall than visiting your local pumpkin patch! This always brings a smile to anyone’s face and most of the time it’s cheap fun! Google, or ask around to find some of the best pumpkin patches in your area. I especially love the ones with a bakery, and corn maze. Treat yourself to a delicious snack, pumpkin picking, and getting lost in a maze, how romantic!

3 | Coffee Shop Date

Although simple, it’s sometimes just nice to get out of the house. Coffee shops are perfect for an inexpensive date night. Not only are they open later than most restaurants they also have a cozy atmosphere. You could even eat at home then hit the town for some relaxing fun.

4 | Game Night

Pull out those old board games and invite another couple, or two over. Busting out your old board games and relaxing at home is one of my favorite ways to spend time with my husband, or a group of friends. It’s easy to create a date night atmosphere in your own home with a few extra things. Create a cracker and cheese platter for your guests, and make sure you have some fresh sweet tea made for them to sip on, and don’t forget to light your favorite fall scented candle! Add a little more change to the night by sitting on the floor, with pillows around, this is cozy and different.

There’s just a few inexpensive fall date night ideas for you to choose from! Which one is your favorite?

Five Fall Fashion Essentials

Untitled design

The leaves are crisp and turning colors here on the homestead and we are finally entering into my favorite season of all. There’s just something about fall I’ve always loved. The cowboy always teases me because everything is dying around us, unlike spring where everything comes to life. But when the air turn cooler, and the leaves start to fall it excites me! It’s probably because where I grew up fall and winter were always the longest seasons. Therefore my wardrobe consists of multiple scarfs, sweaters, and boots! And that’s what we’re going to talk about today!

 Five Fall Fashion Essentials

1 || Blanket Scarfs

Scarfs are so much fun! They can change the entire element of an outfit in seconds, that’s why I love them so much. Everyone should have at least one blanket scarf for their fall wardrobe. Because blanket scarfs are twice the size of your average scarf you can wear them multiple different ways.

Blanket Scarf / the one I have was purchased last fall at Maurices

2 || Short Booties

Every girl needs a staple pair of short booties for fall. Not only are they practical but they look adorable with pants, dresses, and skirts. No matter your style a pair of short booties will be perfect in your wardrobe. There’s multiple styles out there, some with heels, lace, or fringe. I’m in love with this pair I bought last year!

Ankle Booties / these were purchased a year ago at Target

3 || Sweater Dress

One of the best ways to stay warm and still look cute is by rocking a sweater dress. This type of dress has slowly grown on me, besides being extremely comfortable they can also be dressed down or up. Plus this dress pairs perfectly with our first two fall essentials.

4 || Plaid Shirts

An oldie but a goodie! Plaid shirts, have they ever gone out of style? All I know is every girl should at least have one plaid shirt in her closet, if not more. Why? Because you can wear a plaid shirt with so many different things you probably already have in your wardrobe. Vnecks, tank tops, skirts, jeans, leggings, all things you can mix and match with a cute plaid shirt.

5 || Leather Leggings

I’ve finally caved, I think I’m slowly falling in love with leather leggings and I’m completely excited about it. The reason this new fashion has become appealing to me is the wide versatile ways of wearing them. From pairing leather leggings with a long sweater, or a blazer, to rocking them with sequins on a night out, you can wear them any which way. I tried on a bunch of different leather leggings in multiple stores but my favorite of all are these Lauren Conrad ones! They fit perfectly with my short legs, and they are insanely comfortable! That’s what I call a win, win. Plus I feel like Sandie from Grease while wearing them!

I could sit here and talk about fall fashion with all of you for hours, wouldn’t that be fun!? But for those who are easing their way into fashion that would become extremely overwhelming.

What’s your favorite fall fashion? What’s you’re number one fall staple?

October’s Pintrest Wish List

What was our world like before Pinterest? How did we plan weddings, look at baby animals, and create fantastic online wardrobes? How would we pass that last hour of work or those rainy Saturday afternoons? Pinterest is an amazing way to waste time and discover new things.

1 //  If you know me you know I love dainty jewelry and this necklace is calling my name this month. I love the little tiny hearts and their slightly different colors, perfect to wear with a heavy sweater or plain v-neck!

2 // Plaid jackets, I can never get enough of plaid, or jackets! This jacket is adorable, I love how the colors are muted instead of the bright red and dark black that is always popular.

3 // ¬†This skirt! It’s everything perfect in a skirt, glitter, and creamish! My favorite color will always be glitter, and than pink, it’s clear to see why I am obsessing over this skirt for October!

4 // Growing up where every winter was a snowpocalypse, and sweaters were in high demand, my winter wardrobe is filled with warm sweaters. I can’t help it, and this one is amazing!

5 // Last but not least Hunter boots have caught my eye! I have a pair of Sponge Bob rain boots, but these sleek bright boots seem like a needed upgrade! I’m thinking after another few years of saving money I will be able to afford them!
