Merry Christmas Eve!

The cowboy and I have traveled up north to spend this Christmas with my family and I’m so excited! Our family Christmas parties don’t require this kind of dress but I had to share it with you. Fun fact I actually bought this off eBay over a year ago for a wedding! I’ve linked an equally awesome LBD (little black dress). Also if you’re wondering, yes people do stare at you awkwardly while you’re taking photos for your blog. It’s good practice to be comfortable in your own skin though! I would love to see your Christmas party outfits tag me (@thecowboyandi) or use the hashtag #thecowboyandichristmas

I hope whatever you’re doing this Christmas season you have the time of your life doing it. Savor those moments with family and friends. The laughter, the tears, the good times capture them in your mind forever and ever. While you’re preparing for dinner with the inlaws or going out to eat with your friends take a moment and remember what this season is truly about. Without Christ we wouldn’t have Christmas. God gave the greatest gift of all to us sinners. It’s a beautiful gift of untanted and selfless love. So rather then the need to receive enjoy the beauty in giving this year.

Well I’m  off to soak up my family!

XOXO,

Stephanie

Christmas Movie Jar

Ti’s the season for Christmas movies and hot chocolate! There are so many great Christmas movies to watch and we only get one true season to watch them. It’s always a challenge to select which movie to watch on which nights, and somehow we always end up forgetting one. At least this is how it is for the cowboy and I. Determined not to miss out on any of our favorite Christmas movies this year I came up with this fun and easy idea. First the cowboy and I decided what movie we wanted to watch this Christmas, then we wrote each one out on a slip of paper. We folded each movie and placed it in a jar, each night we draw a movie out and watch it together! It’s so fun and easy, plus there’s no arguing over what movie to watch. This fun idea ensures we each get to see the Christmas movies we love and it adds excitement not knowing which movie will be picked. Bellow you will find the list of movies we selected!

Christmas with the Kranks

Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmas

Mickey’s Twice Upon a Christmas

Mickey’s Magical Christmas

The Santa Clause

The Santa Clause 2

Madea’s Christmas

12 Dates of Christmas

Deck The Halls

Jingle All The Way

Elf

Holiday Inn

Home Alone

Home Alone 2

Frosty The Snowman

Unaccompanied Minors

Rudolph

The Holiday

Four Christmas’

Christmas in Handcuffs

White Christmas

I’ll Be Home For Christmas

Christmas Vacation

How The Grinch Stole Christmas

Polar Express

Miracle on 34th Street

Charlie Brown’s Christmas

As you can see we have a long list! I don’t know if we will get through all of these fun movies but at least we’re going to try! After all half the fun is not knowing what movie you’re going to pick. And don’t think you have to use our exact movie list, add your own twist to it. I also added some Christmas ribbon to our little jar because it needed to look more cheerful in my opinion.

“I’m dreaming of a white Christmas…”

Seriously I ask myself every morning “why is there no snow on the ground!?” And then I remember I now live in the south where white Christmas mornings are not as regular. My heart is itching to wake up to a snow day. I feel like a kid every time it snows. My favorite part of a thick snowfall is seeing the snowflakes frozen on the windows. Each snowflake is completely different. Just like you and me, we are completely different and so is our style. That’s why I love fashion. I love being able to say who I am without ever opening my mouth. Our fashion, and makeup, is all different and I love that! So don’t be afraid to be who you are and wear what you want! Today’s outfit is one of my favorite combinations for any Christmas party. It’s more of a Christmas Chic look. If you’ve been following my posts you know these leather leggings made it to my must have list for fall. As you can see I loved them so much they rolled over into my winter wardrobe. Not only are they incredibly comfortable they make a statement. A rather fun statement if you ask me! I paired the leggings with a loose flowy blouse with a little sparkle accent. This top also has a sheer back which is a detail I have to mention. Oh and for the record this top is by far one of the most comfortable pieces in my closet. Clearly you can see I like to be comfy and cute. Then to add color I slipped on some bright red heels. Perfect for a Christmas party, and they matched wonderfully with my santa hat and winter coat. I’ve linked some options to recreate this look for yourself bellow!

PS. There’s only 17 more days till Christmas!

XOXO,

Stephanie

This year you may not be attending a Christmas party, or New Years Eve party, that requires a little black dress and sparkly high heels. I find sometimes it’s the more relaxed parties I have the most trouble getting dressed for. Today I’ve put together this fun, comfy, and cute casual holiday party outfit! When we took these pictures it was a fight against lighting and wind, but you see the basic concept! I love mixing this Christmas green sweater with red pants, nothing screams Christmas like red and green. I added ridding boots because you never know what the weather will do and these boots keep my feet dry and my pants out of the snow or mud! This sweater is by far one of my favorite winter sweaters. The funniest part is I picked it up at a Goodwill while I was in college. To think it’s now being spotlighted in a fashion post, ha! I’ve linked bellow to a few other sweater options, so don’t worry I’ve got you covered. Even if you’re not going to a holiday party this outfit would be perfect for a Christmas production or a coffee date. The possibilities are endless. I would love to see how this outfit inspires you! Tag me in your casual holiday party outfits @thecowboyandi on Twitter or Instagram! I look forward to being inspired by you!

Bellow you will find the details for today’s post, have fun shopping and styling my darlings!
