Happy Birthday Cowboy!

Today my sweet cowboy turns 24! I’m incredibly grateful God brought him into my night. I can still remember the night we first met… There was so much laughter, and smiles, and a strong sense of comfort. Once God made a way for the two of us to spend more time together I quickly realized what a sweet, loving, and caring guy he was. Not to mention his servant heart. What more could a girl really ask for?! And then he proposed at Disney World so how could I say no!? So today is all about the cowboy. Last year I had so much fun surprise decorating his office, but this year things are a little more tame. I look forward to showering him with a little extra love and appreciation. After all he’s 24 and getting older!

Happy birthday my love!

Happy New Year!

2015 has been a year of growth in so many personal ways for me. I’m excited to see where 2016 takes me in every aspect of my life. A new year is like the beginning of another book in the series. Full of new excitement, new possibilities, and new plot twists! And that’s how I feel about 2016. I’m ready for some upcoming changes, and to see what God has in store. It’s always popular on the first day of a new year for everyone to post their new years resolutions. I don’t know about you but those never work out for me…

So instead of a new years resolution for 2016 I vow to create a full life.

I vow to love my husband fiercely, and unconditionally.

I vow to make the most of every opportunity.

I vow to travel, and travel often.

I vow to give my all in our ministries at church and in our daily life.

I vow to wear bold lipstick, because life is to short.

I vow to cherish every single moment with family.

I vow to take hundreds of pictures.

I vow to try new things, except sea food.

I vow to forgive quickly, and often.

I vow to try my very best.

I vow to inspire others, while inspiring myself.

I vow to call home every week.

I vow to eat slightly better… ok ok I vow to eat a lot better.

I vow to not wait till tomorrow.

I vow to have more date nights.

I vow to laugh frequently.

I vow to release perfection.

No matter what happens this year remember you have the choice to make your dreams and goals come true! So make 2016 the year of DOING instead of waiting! I hope you all have an amazing day and a wonderful weekend. Don’t forget to grab your 2016 free phone wallpaper!

A Look Back At 2015…

Looking back on 2015 there are so many things that come to mind. How much I’ve grown as a blogger, wife, and christian, and all the amazing adventures I was able to take. Today I’m recapping the best of 2015!

Kicked off the year with a last second trip to Miss Rodeo USA Pageant as a stand in videographer. Talk about excitement! The cowboy & I also celebrated out six month anniversary in January, I realized how many lessons I learned in just a few short months.

Six Lessons In Six Months

Celebrated my sweet husband’s 23rd birthday in February and added a new addition to our little family!

In March my Mom underwent her last major surgery after conquering breast cancer. I’m so thankful that I was able to spend a month back home taking care of her while she recovered, she is for sure one tough cookie!

I wasn’t the only daughter who’s mother was fighting caner in 2015. Taylor Swift’s mom was diagnosed with cancer, and knowing full well the pain that comes along with this I felt the desire to write her a letter. Dear Taylor, was the third most viewed post of 2015!

Dear Taylor, insta

While the flowers were in full bloom Hill Country Chic Boutique & I teamed up for my first ever sponsored post and I was beyond excited!

June marked our first year living on the homestead.

So many wonderful things happened in July! Including the cowboy & I’s one year anniversary  and our anniversary pictures!

In August my First Stitch Fix was mailed to my house and it was love at first box. Also my family from up north came down to see us which meant tractor rides and good times!

Wedding season was in full swing for the cowboy & I. It seems the entire year of 2015 we were preparing for our friend’s wedding, which was a blast! In September we celebrated Tiffany & Adrian’s wedding and it was simply gorgeous! No wonder their wedding recap was the number one most viewed post of 2015! With all the wedding buzz I also took the time to encourage newly weds about being Young & Reckless, making this the second most viewed post of 2015. And not to mention the cowboy & I spent some time celebrating my birthday and life at the most magical place on earth!

Disney Trip

Fall came late for us this year but I couldn’t help but share my favorite fall outfits with all of you! In October my eyes were also open to the persecution of women all over the world. I committed to praying for my sisterhood every day at noon and challenged you to do the same, #notonourwatch

My second Stitch Fix arrived in November along with some adorable goodies. We also talked about Thanksgiving Outfits, and Cream Eye Shadows AND I also showed your our homestead and Oklahoma City adventures via vlog!

December brought many exciting things including a collaboration with Banner Apparel! I also received my first Rocksbox, a subscription perfect for the jewelry lover. Talked about the importance of making sure you take time to appreciate your husbands and the true meaning of Christmas!

As you can see 2015 has been a busy year, I thank God for all that has happened the good and the bad. I know 2016 is going to bring even more new adventures and I can’t wait to share them all with you here. Thank you for following along this year, you guys mean more to me than you will ever know! I hope you have a wonderful New Years Eve and an even better 2016!

Christmas Movie Jar

Ti’s the season for Christmas movies and hot chocolate! There are so many great Christmas movies to watch and we only get one true season to watch them. It’s always a challenge to select which movie to watch on which nights, and somehow we always end up forgetting one. At least this is how it is for the cowboy and I. Determined not to miss out on any of our favorite Christmas movies this year I came up with this fun and easy idea. First the cowboy and I decided what movie we wanted to watch this Christmas, then we wrote each one out on a slip of paper. We folded each movie and placed it in a jar, each night we draw a movie out and watch it together! It’s so fun and easy, plus there’s no arguing over what movie to watch. This fun idea ensures we each get to see the Christmas movies we love and it adds excitement not knowing which movie will be picked. Bellow you will find the list of movies we selected!

Christmas with the Kranks

Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmas

Mickey’s Twice Upon a Christmas

Mickey’s Magical Christmas

The Santa Clause

The Santa Clause 2

Madea’s Christmas

12 Dates of Christmas

Deck The Halls

Jingle All The Way

Holiday Inn

Home Alone

Home Alone 2

Frosty The Snowman

Unaccompanied Minors

The Holiday

Four Christmas’

Christmas in Handcuffs

White Christmas

I’ll Be Home For Christmas

Christmas Vacation

How The Grinch Stole Christmas

Polar Express

Miracle on 34th Street

Charlie Brown’s Christmas

As you can see we have a long list! I don’t know if we will get through all of these fun movies but at least we’re going to try! After all half the fun is not knowing what movie you’re going to pick. And don’t think you have to use our exact movie list, add your own twist to it. I also added some Christmas ribbon to our little jar because it needed to look more cheerful in my opinion.

What are some of your must watch Christmas movies?

Oklahoma Vlog

This Thanksgiving so many fun memories were created and they will be cherished for years to come. We spent our Thanksgiving weekend in Oklahoma City with my brother and family. The entire time was spent exploring OKC and eating our way around town. So it was basically perfect! The girls even got some Black Friday shopping done. But besides the shopping, food, and exploring we were able to spend time with family which is always my favorite part of the holidays. Because of Oklahoma’s ice storm our weekend was extended when we woke up Saturday morning. Oklahoma was frozen over and it was simply beautiful and perfect. My Mom, Aunt, and I were running all over the neighborhoods taking pictures of the trees full of fall leaves frozen. It was a little bit chilly but totally worth it. One of my favorite places we visited was Pops. A local burger joint that serves hundreds of differ types of soda from all around the world! We ordered our meals then went to search for the perfect drink! It was too much fun reading all the different names of the sodas they offered. We also had an exciting time at Dave N’ Busters before the power went out and didn’t come back on. Our sweet boys also waited around while we shopped at Ulta, and Cavenders! Needless to say it was a fast and furious trip and I loved every single second of it! Click here to see what I wore on Thanksgiving!

Our Oklahoma Vlog is live now, watch it bellow and thumbs up for more videos!
